Swedish Relaxation Massage

This is the perfect modality to relieve the stress and tightness caused by your hectic life. Blending Swedish and circulatory massage strokes, your therapist will gently knead your muscles to increase flexibility, stimulate circulation and promote relaxation. Deep Tissue Massage

If your lifestyle involves sports or you're deeply stressed, this massage was designed to really loosen you up. This challenging massage focuses on specific areas for deeper relief using slow stroke techniques. Hot Stone Massage

A relaxation massage incorporating smooth, heated stones that are oiled for massage and strategically placed for a heat that penetrates below the skin.

 

Neuromuscular Massage

A deep tissue massage focusing on a specific area of discomfort with deep flushing to reduce muscle soreness.

 

Lymphatic Drainage

A light massage technique is used to target the lymph nodes and stimulate a flushing of excess fluids. A great way to reduce facial congestion from allergies.

 

Myofacial Release

A gentle sliding pressure is applied during this massage to release restricted tissue. The stretching and heat produced with the massage causes the tissues to become softer and more flexible, promoting increased flexibility and movement.

 

Reflexology

In reflexology, the feet and hands are mirror images of the body. By the application of pressure, stretch and movement to these areas, our trained reflexologists break up patterns of stress in other parts of the body. With each session comes support for the entire body and soothing relief and energizing comfort for tired feet.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese massage, which means, "finger pressure". Shiatsu is done over clothing and requires no lotion or oil. Shiatsu not only works the muscles and soft tissue, but also incorporates the same pressure points utilized in acupuncture.  For centuries, this ancient Eastern method has been prized for it's extensive therapeutic benefits. Using pressure applied to your body's meridians to harmonize and balance energy flow, this treatment stimulates the circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems. 

This is in a very relaxing as well as stimulating massage. The recipient is often filled with vibrant energy after a session. Shiatsu is effective in providing therapeutic relief from chronic pain; particularly of the joints, neck and back.

It is wonderfully relaxing and a sensual treat for the mind, body and spirit.

TMJ

Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction - use of specific massage on neck, face and sometimes in mouth to help with pain of above dysfunction.

 

Medical Massage

Medical massage is prescribed by a physician and it is approached with a specific treatment plan in mind. It has individual goals set for improvement within a certain time frame and is charted and progress notes are sent to the referring physician.

There are various reasons why a person seeks treatment oriented bodywork like medical massage. A specific event such as an injury from an auto accident or sports activity is traumatic to your body. Working to realign soft tissue and improve range of motion is a primary goal of any rehabilitation program. Medical massage can help achieve these goals.

Additionally, poor posture or repetitive motion strain can be detrimental to your muscles and other connective tissues by affecting tissue quality and causing muscles to either shorten or lengthen. Over time these conditions can adversely effect circulation causing a build up of metabolic toxins. Eventually, "knotty" tissue forms which can result in painful trigger points and generalized muscle soreness. As the body adapts to these dysfunctions, a pain-spasm-pain cycle begins which effects nerves and blood vessels, thereby creating more problems. Medical massage helps normalize dysfunctional tissue.

Rehabilitative Medical Massage

Therapy for clients with known, diagnosed pain syndromes and must be prescribed by your physician. The recommended frequency is 2 times per week for treatment of most syndromes.

Depending on the severity and state of the injury, how chronic or acute, you may need 3 to 6 weeks of specific, medical massage treatment in order to effectively treat the syndrome. Home care stretching and strengthening exercises may be prescribed in conjunction with therapy.

Treatable pain syndromes are numerous (i.e., rotator cuff syndrome, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet syndrome, tennis/golfer's elbow, etc) and caused primarily by soft tissue injuries due to stress, trauma or overuse.

Waxing

For all waxing treatments, you must have at least 1/4 inch of hair growth and not have done any form of tanning 24 hours before the appointment. Warm wax is applied to the skin, vellum strips are pressed onto the area over the wax, followed by barrier repair to soothe the skin. This treatment is a semi-permanent treatment.

Waxing can be performed to most areas of the body - arms, back, face, brow, cheeks, chest, chin, lip and underarm, face, full  or 1/2 leg, bikini basic (bikini areas on the leg), bikini playboy (further down the legs and higher along the sides), and Brazilian (all hair removed, front, and back (optional).

Your feet are dipped in warm paraffin (with moisturizing oils), then wrapped to insulate the warmth. You can relax while the heat penetrates into the joints and opens pores for softness, moisturizing and comfort. This service can be added to most any spa treatment or package. $10
