4 Ways to Keep Your Skin Looking Great During Season Changes

1. Cleaning
A proper cleaning routine is needed to keep your skin soft, elastic, and clean. It also prevents skin problems such as acne, blemishes, and excess dryness. Try using a good foaming facial cleanser and a soft sponge for regular cleansing. Avoid using hand or body soap, which can dry the skin. Wash your skin in a circular motion and cleanse gently to avoid scratching the surface of your skin.
2. Hydrating
One of the best ways you can prolong the youthful look of your skin is by ensuring that it's properly hydrated. Drinking water and tea is a great way to hydrate your skin from the inside out, but the surface could always use some extra care. To hydrate your skin in the summer, use oil-free moisturizing cream with a high SPF to protect your skin from sun damage. In the winter, go for a hydrating cream that contains Co-enzyme Q10 or collagen to prevent wrinkles. If you go for spa treatments, you can ask for a nice detox or steam treatment for hydrating. Note: You may think that SPF protection isn't important for skincare in the winter, but to the contrary... it is. If you plan to spend hours outdoors, it's best to choose a skin moisturizer that contains at least an SPF of 15 and no eucalyptus. Eucalyptus gives you a cooling feeling, which may be great in summer, but atrocious in the winter.
3. Exfoliation
Exfoliation removes dead skin from the surface of your face, leaving smooth glowing skin behind. Although you can exfoliate your skin in any season, it's especially important in the winter and summer when your skin can become dry and flaky. If you have sensitive skin and you've never exfoliated before, use one formulated for sensitive skin.
4. Prevent Clogged Pores
No matter the season, if you are a makeup wearer, remove your makeup before going to bed. Sleeping with your makeup on can clog your pores resulting in unsightly blackheads, additional oil, and blemishes over time. Use gentle oil based makeup remover liquid in the winter, but an oil-free solution in the summer. Simply squirt a little onto a cotton ball and wipe each area of your face in a circular motion before using your favorite facial wash to wash away any residue.
