5 Great Summer Beauty Tips
Posted: August 17th, 2012
Summer is here and Warmer weather requires us to change our beauty routine. Hair and skin have to be protected from the sun, feet should be sandal ready, and you should let your natural glow through with a relaxed regimen.
Protect Your Hair
Salt, sun, and chlorine can do a lot of damage to your hair. It can dry it out and make color treatments fade. When you're out in the sun, wear a hat to protect both your hair and face, or wear your hair in a tightly coiled bun so that as little of your hair as possible is exposed to the sun. As summer draws to a close, consider a moisturizing hair treatment to help undo some of the damage the season brought.
Fight Aging
It is no secret that too much sun is bad for your skin. Protect yourself with a sunscreen with a high SPF or wear light, loose layers to keep the sun off your skin without overheating. If you do happen to get a sunburn, moisturize to try to repair the damage, and exfoliate lightly as dead skin flakes off. Moisturizing and exfoliating should be part of your normal routine even if you don't have a burn. Keeping your skin supple will help minimize the signs of aging.
Treat Your Feet
Summer is the perfect time to try a bright shade on your toes, and there's nothing stopping you from bringing it to your hands with a manicure and pedicure. To keep your pedicure looking great, engage in routine foot care and exfoliate regularly. To keep your routine simple, nothing does the job quite like a stroll through beach sand.
Keep Your Makeup Simple
Ditch heavy foundations in the hot summer months. A little bronzer will give you a sunkissed glow. All you need on top of it is some gloss and mascara.
Ditch Styling Tools
Nothing is worse than sweltering under the heat of a dryer or hot rollers during a heatwave. Work with your hair's natural state or twist it into an easy updo instead.
