Add Aromatherapy to Your Massage

Aromatherapy involves the use of natural oils which can come from either flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of plant. These oils are used to enhance both physical and psychological well-being. When you add aromatherapy to your massage, an essential oil is added to the massage lotion to offer either relaxation, calming, soothing or stimulating therapeutic effects to optimize your massage. These essential oils ,which are widely believed to stimulate brain function when inhaled, can also be absorbed through the skin. Once applied to the skin, the essential oils can be absorbed into the bloodstream. Essential oils have been linked to aiding in pain relief, helping enhance mood and increased cognitive function. Each different essential oil has its own healing properties. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin because of their powerful and concentrated nature.
