Baby, It's Cold Outside Winter Weather Health Tips
Cold weather is here and with a decrease in temperature, a few issues that don't usually plague most people in warmer months may arise.
These issues can include: a lower resistance to cold and flu viruses, chapped, dry skin and muscle and joint pain.
To combat those issues, it is important to pay attention to one's nutrition, appropriate dress for the cold winter months and the amount of rest and relaxation that is acquired to be healthier and well.
Nutrition:
Adequate nutrition can improve an individual's health and wellness by boosting the immune system during the winter months.
Green leafy vegetables like kale, collard, and turnip greens and bright, citrus fruits that include lemons, limes, and oranges are packed with needed amounts of vitamin A and vitamin C (Vitamins A and C help the body's immune system to fight off cold and flu viruses).
Dressing For the Weather:
Dressing properly for the cold weather months can protect the body's largest organ: the skin. When you dress for the weather, it can protect the skin when certain skin care items are used, such as lotions and creams to moisturize the skin to help prevent dryness and roughness.
Another way to be cold weather-ready is to wear insulated undergarments and boots: also, don't forget to wear a warm hat and gloves.
Pamper Thy Self:
Pampering yourself at a day spa with a massage therapy session during the cold months has a host of benefits, that can include enhancing restful sleep and soothing tight tense muscles and joints.
Healthy living doesn't start in the warm weather months, it is a year-round deal, be sure to take care of yourself with the above winter tips!
