It is that time of year again. Cold and flu season is among us. There are a few things you can do to prevent the flu this season.    All of the healthcare professionals recommend different things. Get a flu shot. Eat your vegetables. Exercise regularly. However, all of these things come down to the same thing. Take care of yourself.   One of the best ways to prevent the cold and flu is to take time for yourself. When you do not give your body time to recover, it can be harmful to your immune system. This can lead you to be sick more often or to stay sick longer.   One excellent way to take care of yourself is to have a massage! Massage therapy is relaxing and therapeutic. It can help the body relax and naturally rejuvenate. In this way, massage therapy is an excellent preventative measure for cold and flu season.   If you are already feeling under the weather, a trip to the day spa may be just what the doctor ordered. Consider a massage that uses essential oils. These oils are naturally scented. Scents like lavender and mint can help relieve cold and flu symptoms.    Essential oils are not the only way that the day spa can help those with the cold and flu. A massage can help relieve sore and aching muscles. The steam from hot spa water can help clear congestion. In fact, just the mental relaxation can help the body heal faster. This is especially true if you are normally in an environment that is high in stress.   Cold and flu season is the perfect time of year to hit the spa. Between preventing the flu and even treating some of the symptoms, there are a lot of benefits to having a day at the spa! And don't forget to also take your vitamin C !!
