5 Simple Stretches to Start Your day off Right

Mobility is reduced while sleeping, which means your blood circulation is also reduced. This is one reason why stretching is vital in the morning. The following are five simple stretches you can do when you wake.

1. A Foot Massage

A foot massage is one of the most popular daily stretching exercises. It may not seem like you are stretching, but it helps increase blood flow to your foot, increasing foot health. One reason people go to a day spa is due to back issues. Well, foot health is usually linked to back pain, making this an important stretching exercise to consider.

2. Upward Stretch

One of the simplest exercises you can do is the upward stretch. It is the most known exercise. It involves reaching high. The key to getting this right is to elongate the spineand make sure your ribcage feels this. This should definitely be one of your daily stretching exercises.

3. Neck Stretches

A popular reason one heads to a day spa is because the neck is full of tension. Much of the tension a spa has to alleviate is due to computer usage and the way one sleeps. Be sure to stretch your neck in the morning to combat unnecessary neck tension. This means leaning your neck to the right for 20 seconds and the left for the same amount of time.

4. Lay and Twist

Lower back pain could be a reason one goes to the spa, too. One morning exercise to combat lower back pain is the lay and twist stretch. Lay on your back, and clasp your legs while bending at the knees. Now, twist your legs to the left for a few seconds; then twist the other way.

5. Squats

Perform a few squats in the morning while keeping your back straight to help strengthen your knees. Make sure that you do a few squats before calling it quits. You should do at least 20 squats in the morning, but more is better. Hopefully, these five exercises help start your day off right.
