Drinking Water Can Boost Your Health
Posted: May 25th, 2018
We've heard it over and over.....drink plenty of water. Water is a basic necessity for promoting healthy skin and good digestion. Two-thirds of the body is made up of water. Therefore, it is vital to stay hydrated.
Why we need water as a regular part of our day:
Healthy skin
Water hydrates from the inside out and helps give skin elasticity and support this essential body barrier.
Proper digestion
Water helps prevent constipation by creating softness to stools and fluid to the colon.
Lubricate Joints
Water helps reduce joint pain and protect against wear and tear.
Healthy blood and bones
Your blood is over 80 percent water and your bones are over 50 percent water. Proper hydration is required to optimize creation and maintenance of new blood and bone cells.
Alertness
Even minor dehydration can lead to headaches, irritability, impaired concentration, and fatigue. The human brain is 85 percent water; it must stay hydrated for proper functioning.
Eliminate Toxins
Nix the detox plans. Plain water naturally helps remove toxins through the lymphatic system, intestines, and kidneys.
It is recommended to drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses a day. Give or take, this might not be the case for everyone. However, you should try to drink consistently throughout the day. This is easier if you keep a large glass or water bottle handy wherever you go. Carrying water containers with you is key. You will be amazed how much more water you will drink when you have it handy. Also, this will lessen the chance of buying nasty sugary soft drinks outdoors. If possible, consider getting a water-purification system for your home. Water is the healthiest drink you should have daily.
