The Perfect Pedicure
A spa day is at the top of most people's lists of ways to relax. Not much can compare to enjoying some quiet time just getting pampered. Pedicures are one of the most popular spa treatment options today. Following is a list of the most common foot treatments to help you determine which one is best for you!
Basic: The most common pedicure where the feet are placed in a soaking tub, exfoliated, moisturized, the feet and calves are massaged, and nail color is applied.
Spa: This includes all steps of the Basic pedicure, as outlined above, but with the addition of a specialized treatment such as the application of a foot mask or dip in paraffin wax. This style of treatment generally costs a bit extra for the additional service.
Stone: This treatment includes all steps of the Basic with the addition of the use of hot massage stones to soothe the legs and feet.
French: This treatment only differs in terms of nail color application. The nail tips are painted white with the rest of the nail a natural pink color.
Mini: This pedicure is great for those looking to fit a bit of pampering into a hectic day. It focuses mainly on the toes with only the foot soak, nail shaping, and color application. It is a great choice when in need of quick maintenance between regular visits.
Athletic: This foot treatment is great for either gender as it differs from the Basic spa treatment in including clear polish or toenail buffing rather than nail color.
Specialty: Salons often offer nail treatments and products that coordinate with the season, such as hot chocolate, or specialized foot services based on the client (prenatal, children, etc).
