Tips on How to Prepare for A Spa Treatment
Arrive early – Try to arrive 15-20 minutes before your treatment. The extra time will help you start to relax and enjoy the facility. Maybe even ask for a brief tour of some of the procedure rooms.
Shave prior to the facial – For full benefits of your facial, it's best to shave so that your esthetician has a full access to your face. A clean shave works best for treatments. The esthetician will be able to treat areas of ingrown hairs and razor burn during your facial.
Shower before your massage – Well you would think that does not need to be said, but it is advised and appreciated to take a shower before treatment. You want to feel clean and fresh when entering your treatment room.
Turn your cell phone off – By all means, have some consideration for others and turn your cell phone off. Even if you leave your phone in a locker room, it is proper to turn it off so that it doesn't annoy other clients and staff.
Talk to your technician – Be open and discuss any sensitivities, injuries, and chronic pains you may be experiencing before treatment. If you are having health concerns, you should discuss with your doctor before making an appointment at the spa.
Underwear optional – We want you to be comfortable. But it is also fine to leave your underwear on if you are uncomfortable. Many are comfortable in the buff, and some are not. Your choice.
Avoid lotion before waxing – lotions and body creams applied before waxing will make it difficult to remove wax strips.
Tips for the technician – Massage therapists are usually tipped 15 – 20% for their expertise.
Stay out of the sun – It's best to avoid a lot of sun exposure after your treatment. Always wear sunscreen.
