Indulge This Thanksgiving Without the Guilt

Healthy Eating Is Possible On Thanksgiving Day

You might worry that indulging during the Thanksgiving holiday is bad, but you can continue to enjoy tasty treats. Make sure to control the portions of the foods that you eat at a restaurant, but when you are cooking at home, you can adjust your favorite recipes. It is easy to be thankful for good health and wellness during the holidays when you understand how to reduce the calories in your meals.

Reduce the Fat In Turkey

When you are roasting a turkey, avoid slathering it with butter because this adds fat. Before placing the turkey in the oven, wrap it completely in heavy aluminum foil so that the meat won't become dry. You can open the top of the aluminum during the last 15 minutes of the roasting process so that the turkey becomes brown. Instead of choosing the dark meat of the turkey, select the white meat that has fewer calories.

Use Caution While Buying Groceries At the Supermarket

Healthy eating begins while you are shopping at the supermarket for groceries. Instead of buying whole milk that has a lot of fat, use skim milk in your mashed potatoes. Rather than using vegetable oil in baked goods, you can use the same amount of sugar-free applesauce.

Be Thankful For Good Health and Wellness With This Fudge Recipe

Buy white chocolate chips, dried cranberries and walnut pieces for this easy microwave fudge recipe. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe mixing bowl to heat for a few minutes. Stir the melted chocolate until it is soft before adding a small portion of walnut pieces and dried cranberries. Stir the mixture again before pouring it into a square casserole dish. Cover this container before putting it in the refrigerator overnight.
