If you decide to use essential oils, ask your client for their aroma preference.

Making Your Own Oils

Begin by choosing the carrier oil. This is the basic ingredient providing most of the liquid in massage oil. These are vegetable based and found in grocery stores. Some examples are Grapeseed oil, Jojoba oil, Avocado Oil, Almond oil, Apricot Kernel, Wheat germ oil and Hazelnut oil.   Now select essential oils to go with your carrier oil. These essential oils are concentrated and are to be used by blending two or three drops to a batch of oil. Essential oils should be kept in colored glass bottles, in a cool, dry location. They are prone to break down in extreme temperatures or light. Try using these- Rosewood oil, Geranium oil, Sandalwood oil, Cinnamon oil, Peppermint oil, Black pepper oil, Rose oil and Jasmine oil.   Put them together and create your massage oil.
