Momma Always Said "Stand Up Straight!"

Momma always said to stand up straight, and she was right. Poor posture contributes to a number of aches and pains we experience because of the stress it causes to our body. Good body posture is not only attractive, but it promotes health benefits such as improved breathing, decreased health complications and improved self-confidence. With the help of massage therapy, you can experience the rewards a massage offers including improved posture!   First of all, good body posture improves body image. By pulling the tummy in, the waist is more defined, which creates a figure that appears taller, slimmer, and more attractive. And, when you look good, you feel better!  Next, a properly aligned body optimizes breathing by naturally opening the airways, and allowing more oxygen to enter the body. Increased oxygen generates more energy and improves concentration, thus making you less tired and more productive!   In addition, by simply improving posture, health complications such as joint injuries, strained ligaments, sore muscles, slipped discs, as well as digestion problems, may decrease. By avoiding slouching, the digestive organs aren't compacted and function improves! When the body is properly aligned, everything from your hip, knees, back and neck experience less stress so you feel healthier!   Further, a properly aligned body exudes self-confidence and appears to be more assertive and in control. This is because of the increased production of positive emotions and the reduction of stress.   In conclusion, being aware of your posture and improving it, is essential to living a quality life. Body posture can be improved through massage therapy, which properly aligns the body through massage techniques, by relaxing and loosening sore joints and muscles. Once pain and tension is reduced, the body can return to its natural posture and begin to heal, promoting a more positive and healthy lifestyle.
