What Causes Foot Pain?

Foot pain is typically caused by overuse of the tendons, ligaments and bones, inflammation or injury. Arthritis is a condition that can cause a foot ache. Other causes of foot aches include bone spurs, plantar fasciitis, calluses and ingrown toenails. Additionally, a foot ache can be caused by peripheral neuropathy, which causes tingling, numbness, and pain in the foot.  The natural aging process is something else that can cause foot pain. The structure of your foot can change as you get older. Conditions like arthritis are also more common in older people.

How to Alleviate Foot Pain

If you have been suffering from foot aches, then you should take a trip to the day spa. You can get massage therapy to alleviate the pain. Massage helps increase blood flow to the feet. When blood flow is increased, there are more endorphins flowing to the area. This can naturally get rid of the pain. If the pain is caused by an injury, then the increased blood flow can help the injury heal a lot faster.  Massage therapy can also loosen up tight muscles, which can cause pain. Additionally, a massage can help alleviate nerve irritation. Reflexology is another treatment that can be used to get rid of the pain. It is an alternative medicine treatment that involves applying pressure to the feet in order to heal the entire body.  Reflexology is a treatment that you can get at a day spa. There are 5,000 nerve endings in the feet that promote relaxation. Applying pressure to the foot can help alleviate the pain. Not only does reflexology help get rid of pain, but it can also help promote relaxation.
