Pamper Mom with a Spa Night

Posted: May 3rd, 2019

With Mother's Day fast approaching, what can you and your sisters do to celebrate Mom? Have you thought about what fun it would be for all of you to have a relaxing spa night that would also mean quality Mom time? What a wonderful opportunity to bond with your mother, share family memories and stories and recall the "good old days" when you were growing up.   Spas provide wonderful and nurturing experiences. Mom will appreciate choosing from the many types of massages that get rid of muscle tension and are therapeutic, a manicure, a pedicure, body and skin treatments that will soften her skin, a facial for deep cleansing, and lessons about and applications of the proper makeup and various lotions and creams.   When choosing the spa, look for friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as licensed massage therapists and technicians. Make sure that the environment is clean, sanitary, quiet except for soothing music, is well-designed with low lighting, and surrounds guests with pleasant aromas. It is extra special if you can find equipment such as hydrotherapy and whirlpool tubs, steam cabinets or rooms, or a sauna. If you plan multiple treatments, the staff will have to best organize the scheduling because it may need to take place in a particular order to give the best results.

A few additional tips are the following:

* Only eat lightly prior to arriving at the spa. You don't want to feel full and heavy while there and during the massages or treatments. * Take a shower at home and exfoliate well in order to remove dead skin. * Give yourself time to take advantage of different facilities of the spa and to relax between the appointments. * Stay hydrated. It is important to drink lots of water before, during and after the spa visit. Hot and humid conditions, such as in a sauna, are great for relaxing and detoxing, but they make the body lose fluid. Have fun creating a fun Mother's Day!
