Adult acne can be a frustrating dilemma, but with the proper skin care routine, you can eliminate those pesky spots for good. Acne scars are a bit tougher, but the right skin care products can take care of these issues with a little persistence and effort. While
acne and scars are nothing to be ashamed of, it is understandable to want them gone for good, and with these tips, it's possible.
Prevention is Key
Instead of picking at your acne, treat it with skin care products targeted to your specific needs. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are great ingredients that can actively reduce your acne while preventing future breakouts from occurring. Keeping your face clean and moisturized is a surefire way to combat adult acne, as well as ensuring that your complexion is looking its' absolute best.
Fading Light Scars
Salicylic acid is also fantastic for lighting scars and keeping pores clear. There are many products available with this ingredient in the mix, and they vary by strength depending on the severity of your scars. Hydroquinone is another component in certain skin care lines that is known for reducing melanin production, in turn fading your spots away.
Exfoliate Regularly
Sloughing off dead skin cells is a great way to brighten your complexion as well as reduce your acne scars. A gentle scrub once a week will unclog any backed up pores and get rid of all that built up dirt and grime. Do not scrub too hard or use anything that is too abrasive, as this could damage your skin rather than help it.
Covering Stubborn Scars
If you find one of your spots to be too deep to completely remove, covering it with a good concealer is an option. Simply dot it on, stipple your favorite foundation over it, then top off with a little bit of face powder.
