The Human Touch Has Many Powers

"It's about time I treat myself!" - Nobody has ever used this as an excuse to schedule a doctor's appointment. We don't need an excuse to take care of our health.  On the contrary, most people claw for persuasive reasons to relax. But these days, stress is high and it affects our health, even our heart. There are legitimate reasons to schedule relaxation time; to get a massage, a pedicure, a manicure or to spend a day at the spa.

What is the foremost reason? The human touch

When you go to the day spa, human interaction contributes greatly to your feeling refreshed and renewed. Why is this? The human touch is powerful! It releases a hormone called Oxytocin. This hormone has a calming effect on our body and mind. How do you feel when you hold the hand of someone you love? Thanks to this hormone, you feel good inside, relaxed. In the same way, having a massage therapist gently work out your pains and discomforts with his hands releases that same hormone, giving you the soothing realization of actually being relaxed.  Stress hormones wear our bodies down, pushing us to the limit. But feeling the human touch can actually put a healthy stop to those negative stress hormones and let the good ones grip on. If the simple touch can do that, how much more the relaxing touch of a licensed massage therapist!  Yes, massage therapy is not to be underrated. But neither is a simple manicure or pedicure. The gentle massage and tedious care of a manicurist will do more than make your hands sparkle, it will bring stress relief and inner calm.  Any battle won against stress can be counted as a great victory for your personal health! You don't need an excuse to go get that pedicure. You have a reason!
