The Proper Way to Apply Eye Cream
Posted: December 21st, 2015
Your eyes are the first contact someone makes when they look at you; therefore, your eyes are the most prominent feature on your face. The skin around your eyes is extremely delicate and very thin. Your eye area is usually the first place to show signs of aging. Using an eye cream can counteract problem areas. You must first learn how to apply eye cream to realize its full benefit, and then build an eye-care routine with your daily skin care regimen. How to Apply Eye Cream
- Choose an eye cream or anti-aging serum that meets your particular needs. For best results, look for high-quality products with active ingredients that target your areas of concern. Remember, the most expensive is not always the best.
- Wash your face thoroughly to make sure it is clean before you begin the application process. You want to make sure you have removed all dirt, oil, or excess makeup for the best results.
- Open the eye cream and take out a small amount. Generally the size of a pearl is plenty. If you use too much it won't fully absorb into the skin.
- Apply the cream or serum onto a cotton swab or an eye-makeup applicator. You can also use your fingertip if you prefer instead.
- Start underneath the eye, above your cheekbone and just under the tear duct. Gently dot the cream or serum around your eye area, and work your way from the inside bottom lid to the outside bottom corner. Continue dotting and apply the eye cream along the length of the top eyelid. Make sure to touch on the eyelid itself, the crease line of the eyelid, and the area underneath your eyebrow, also known as the brow bone area. Pay attention to any problem areas where you have fine lines and wrinkles.
- Tap the areas dotted by cream with a light gentle motion to help the eye cream absorb into the skin.
