Everywhere that people go today, they are connected to their smartphones in order to talk to friends and relatives. While technology is useful, it is also stressful to hear a cell phone ringing or playing a song constantly. When someone enters a spa, there is often a sign on the doorway that informs clients that they must silence their cell phones.

During spa treatments, other clients are typically in nearby locations, and they can still hear someone accepting cellphone calls. In most cases, a session at a day spa will last an hour or less, and clients can easily silence their cellphone's music or ringing sounds.

Keeping a spa environment quiet provides benefits for everyone who wants to enjoy a soothing massage or beauty treatment. However, if another client is making a lot of noise with a cell phone, then it is difficult for a massage therapist to communicate with a client. It is better for clients to turn off a cellphone before they enter a day spa, or alternatively, a client can only receive text messages.

A day spa may permit clients to use their cell phones in the lobby to avoid disturbing anyone.
