Turn Your Resolutions Into a Life Commitment
Posted: January 2nd, 2017
Healthy living resolutions are the most common New Year's resolutions. Many people vow that they are going to take better care of themselves by getting massage therapy and other spa treatments. Others want to improve their sleep habits and work out more. Most New Year's resolutions are eventually broken, but there are some things that you can do to increase your chances of sticking to your resolutions.
Break Up Your Goals
Many people's healthy living resolutions are too general. For example, if you state that you want to lose 30 pounds next year, then you will need to develop several short-term goals to help you meet this long-term goal. You can strive to lose one or two pounds per week by eating right and working out four times per week. Breaking up your goals will make them easier to manage.
Set Reminders
One of the reasons that many people do not reach their goals is because they get side-tracked with other things. That is why you should set reminders. Put alerts on your phone to remind you of things like your upcoming spa treatments, massage therapy sessions, and workouts. You can also use apps to improve your sleep habits.
Make One Change At A Time
Even though you may have multiple resolutions, you should only focus on one at a time. Once you accomplish one goal, you can move onto the next one. Devoting your time to one goal will greatly increase your chances of keeping your New Year's resolutions. You can also reward yourself with a massage after accomplishing a goal.
Focus On Lifelong Commitments
Your New Year's resolutions should not be about having a better year. They should be about having a better life. A massage, working out and eating right are all things that can improve your health and quality life. If you make healthy living a lifelong commitment, then it will be easier for you to stay focused.
