What is a European Facial

Frequently referred to as a classic facial in Europe, a European facial is a basic, down to Earth approach to skincare that doesn't involve a lot of bells, whistles, and mystery ingredients and really does work. This skincare procedure is based on the notion that thorough cleaning of the skin will result in a glowing, healthy complexion. European facials are thought to stimulate cellular renewal, provide relaxation benefits for the recipient, promote better blood circulation, reduce the appearance of fine lines and age spots, and rejuvenate the skin through superior hydration. Many European women receive this treatment on an average of once per month. This type of facial begins with a thorough cleansing to remove all traces of makeup, natural oils, and grime. The skin is then gently exfoliated and steamed. Extraction to remove blackheads and whiteheads follows the steaming process and then by a soothing, disinfectant that has been kept fresh and pure in an ampoule. European facials can and should be customized to fit the specific needs of individual clients. For instance, someone with oily skin and lots of blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples will require that more attention is paid to the skin during the extraction process than someone whose facial skin is drier. By the same token, dry, papery skin may need a heavier moisturizer. Selecting a skilled esthetician is one of the key factors in getting the most from a European facial. An estheticiam who simply does everything by the book instead of taking individual skin conditions into account probably won't provide as much value as one who asks questions and examines the skin carefully before beginning the process.
