Do you read the labels when you buy sunscreen? Are you really interested in the sunscreen ingredients, or just look for the highest SPF and assume it's the best one for you? You should always read labels for skin care products before you rub anything onto your skin. It's possible you may have an allergy or sensitivity to a particular ingredient that you are not aware of. It is wise to test your skin care products on a small area of skin to see if there is a reaction. By reading the ingredients ahead of time you can save yourself the trouble and not purchase anything that might cause you an unfavorable reaction.

Sunscreen Labels – Things You Should Look For When Buying Sunscreen

Broad Spectrum – This is the most important information that your sunscreen can tell you. Broad Spectrum means that it protects your skin from both UVA and UVB rays.   SPF – A sunscreen of SPF 30 is your best choice. Anything higher has not shown any significant signs of increased protection from the sun.   Zinc – Zinc oxide is the best ingredient to protect your skin from the sun. Zinc offers a protective layer on the surface of your skin deflecting the sun's harmful rays.   Water Resistant – Swimming and sweating will wash off any sunscreen. No product is Water Proof when it comes to sunscreen. But sunscreen can be considered Water Resistant. You will receive consistent protection by reapplying throughout the day after each swim.   Skin Sensitivity – You have sensitive skin; look for sunscreens with Zinc Oxide and Titanum Dioxide as major ingredients. You will still get the protection you need without irritating your sensitive skin.   There are so many sunscreens to choose from. It's up to you to be vigilant and read the ingredients before applying anything to your skin. Stay informed on up to date sunscreen information to keep your skin healthy.
