What's Your Spa Etiquette?

If you are going to a day spa to get a manicure, pedicure or massage, then there are a few things that you will have to keep in mind. Knowing the proper etiquette will help you get the most out of your treatment.
Arrive at least 15 Minutes in Advance
You should arrive at the day spa early. You might have aform to fill out before you get your spa treatment. Arriving early will make sure that you have enough time to fill out forms and get your manicure, pedicure or massage on time.
Turn off Your Phone
You will need to turn off your cell phone before you get your spa treatment. It is rude to carry on conversations with other people while you are getting your treatment.
Do not Wear Jewelry
Many spas will not assume responsibility if your jewelry is stolen. That is why it is best for you to avoid wearing jewelry at the spa.
Avoid Eating Right Before Your Treatment
You should not eat at least one hour before your treatment. You should also avoid drinking alcohol at least 24 hours before getting a treatment. The alcohol has a tendency to dehydrate you.
Speak Up
You have to communicate with the professional in order for you to get the most out of your treatment. That is why you should let your professional know how you are doing and if you would like to have something done differently. Have a conversation with your massage therapist or esthetician.
Tip Properly
A great way to let the professional know that you enjoyed the service is to leave a nice tip. The standard tip recommendation is 15 to 20 percent. Some spas will automatically add the tip fee to the service. Feel free to tip generously if you like.
