Your Eyes Say Alot About You: How De-stressing Eye Treatments Can Rejuvenate Your Eyes

Everyone has heard that the eyes are the window to the soul, but they can also reflect your stress level. Everything, from poor nutrition to a hectic schedule is reflected in the appearance of your eyes. Dark circles, bags, dry eyes and even a reduction in eyesight can cause your eyes to look tired, which makes you look a lot older than you really are. De-stressing eye treatments are designed to restore moisture and increase blood flow to the skin around the eyes, the result is less puffiness, less pressure and a rejuvenated look for you. Spa treatments use products like collagen, Gingko Biloba and ginseng to get rid of excess fluids that cause puffiness, or Vitamin C, to create a brighter more "awake" look by reducing the appearance of dark circles. Because the skin around the eyes is the thinnest on the body, any changes are often noticed immediately. Fine lines and wrinkles, a common result of facial tension, can be eased by a regime of exfoliation, massage, moisturizing masks and gels containing products like cucumber. Remember, any treatment that acts to de-stress your eyes also contributes to your overall health. There are plenty of do-it-yourself options that can be done at home, and can be just as effective. The most popular mask is the cucumber eye treatment. Mash up one half of a cucumber and chill it for half an hour. Now, gently smooth it over your eyes and leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse off with cool water. A banana mask is also effective in taking care of wrinkles. Mix one half of a ripe banana with one teaspoon of rose water and smooth over the eyes. Let it sit for half an hour and rinse off with cool water. Bananas contain vitamins C, A and B6 that fight signs of aging.
