An afternoon spa tea party is fabulous way to start a tradition with close friends to meet once a year. Everyone has busy lifestyles these days. Friendships are very important and need pampering. What better way for some relaxation and catch up time with the girls; a nice spa day and afternoon tea party to soothe and calm the stress away?   A perfect occasion for a celebration is the perfect reason for an afternoon tea party. Whatever the occasion may be from birthdays to Mother's Day, organizing a tea party out or in your home is a great idea to try something different. An afternoon tea party is the easiest social occasion to organize and host.  In many countries around the world, the ritual of afternoon tea is a regular event, with a variety of cakes, scones, pastries and other treats. The tea party can be enjoyed at hotels and elegant tea houses and is perfect for a formal or informal afternoon tea party at home with friends, family and business colleagues.

Here are some very helpful tips if you are considering hosting a tea party in your own home.

Planning – fairly simple menu does not require a lot of time or effort.   Send out invitations weeks ahead of time. But for an informal get together, just phone calls to guests are fine.   Don't invite more guests than you're comfortable with having over. Keep it small and simple, under a dozen.   Do as much preparation ahead of time. Don't make and put out sandwiches more than an hour before serving.   Have a plentiful supply of boiling water ready.   Use your good quality china, serving platters, tea pots, cutlery, furniture and tablecloths. Rent or borrow supplies if necessary.   If you are planning to hold your event outdoors, always be prepared for a change in weather.   If timing is tough and kitchen space is in short supply, go ahead and purchase a selection of cakes and pastries from the bakery.
